COLUMBUS CRIME COVERAGE & COMMUNITY STORIES

Reporting from
our community.

Wicked Crimes is independent media based in Columbus, Ohio, founded by James Copas. We bring together field coverage, scene photography, interviews, and conversations about the people affected by crime. Explore the site to follow a story, listen to a podcast, or find the original agency behind a public report.

Our coverage archive shows moments documented on location. Photo captions describe what is visible; a photograph alone does not establish an incident’s cause, outcome, or investigation status. Our news page links directly to local, national, and world publishers so you can read the reporting in its original context.

For questions about your area, the Columbus crime map displays the city’s published police reports, source coordinates, and report times. The missing-person resources connect readers with official listings. Use the agency’s current poster or notice when checking a case, sharing information, or deciding where to send a tip.

USING WICKED CRIMES

Is the crime map a live dispatch feed?

No. It shows published police reports, which may arrive later than the incident and can be reclassified. Check the source timestamps and filters. An empty map does not mean no crime occurred. Call 911 for an emergency.

Where can I listen to the podcast?

Visit Wicked Crimes Uncovered for our published Spotify sessions, dates, and players. You can also open each episode directly on Spotify. Our Videos page features reporting and stories from the Wicked Crimes YouTube channel.

How do I share a story or request an interview?

Use the Contact page to reach Wicked Crimes about a story lead, interview, podcast appearance, or brand partnership. Include the location, date, a source link when available, and a way to contact you. For community reporting in the Citizen app, follow our ColumbusUnleashed group.
